International Day of Charity 2025: Hajiya Lami Calls for Generosity and Unity in Adamawa
Adamawa State First Lady, Hajiya Lami Ahmadu Fintiri, has urged residents of the state to embrace generosity, unity, and compassion as the world commemorates the International Day of Charity 2025.
In a statement issued by her Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Mr. Ishaya Bitrus, Hajiya Lami emphasized that true charity is not measured by abundance but by the willingness to extend a helping hand, no matter how little.
“The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention. Charity is not about abundance; it is about willingness. It is about lifting a widow’s burden, supporting a struggling youth, and giving a child hope for tomorrow,” she said.
Marking the occasion under the theme “Spreading Generosity and Strengthening Community Support,” the Governor’s wife announced that her Fresh Air Pro-Life Empowerment Foundation (FAPEF), in partnership with the Northern Governors’ Wives Forum, has distributed relief items to 1,500 women, youths, and vulnerable groups across Adamawa State.
She reiterated her commitment as “Uwar Marayu Adamawa” (Mother of the Orphans) to ensuring that charity goes beyond rhetoric and is demonstrated through tangible actions that uplift lives and strengthen social bonds.
“Together, we can reduce suffering, restore dignity, and inspire hope where it is most needed. No matter how little we have, there is always something to give—food, time, skills, or a kind word. The greatest wealth we can share is love and compassion,” she added.
Hajiya Lami called on individuals, communities, and institutions to use the International Day of Charity as an opportunity to recommit themselves to building a society where no one is left behind and where acts of kindness serve as pillars of peace and togetherness.
