LCCN Archbishop Emeritus Passes Away in Europe



The Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN) has formally announced the passing of its Archbishop Emeritus, Most Rev. Nemuel A. Babba, one of the Church’s most respected elder statesmen and spiritual leaders.

According to an official statement issued from Numan and signed by the Secretary of the LCCN Bishops’ Council, Rt. Rev. Zethan Gajere, Archbishop Emeritus Babba passed on to glory in the late hours of Monday, November 24th, 2025, at the Faroe Islands, Denmark, after a prolonged illness.

The statement described his transition as a significant loss to the LCCN family, noting that Archbishop Babba served the Church with exceptional commitment and left an enduring legacy of faith, humility, and leadership.

At the moment the funeral arrangements will be communicated to the public at a later date, and the church calls for prayers for the bereaved family and the Church community.

Archbishop Emeritus Babba is remembered as a unifying voice and a pillar in the Christian community in Adamawa State and across Nigeria. His passing has drawn widespread sympathy and reflection among clergy, laity, and community leaders.
